The Collective Mourn is now available as a limited edition print! The original has been acquired by the Portland Art Museum.

I finished painting this work in Jan 2022, where it made its debut at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (PSU campus) for the BLM Exhibition. I was a grantee among 19 other artists in the Portland Metro area. This is my biggest painting to date, measuring at 84x96in. I applied to this opportunity shortly after starting my Resistance Works series, a collection of paintings that I turned into posters after the murder of George Floyd.

This work is my response to the violence and murders against black and brown bodies in the United States, a collective mourn between black mothers who are coming together to grieve the death over a son.
